Barcelona is probably one of the most stunning cities in Spain. It’s view from the mountain and to the Mediterranean sea give it a distinct touch, and it’s artistic monuments and excellent food make it a top destination.
Despite having arrived in Spain a year ago, I still hadn’t had the chance to visit Barcelona – a must see. We finally had a little time and planned what has become one of the best weekend getaways full of memories.
From the streets of #barcelona 🌆 • The city of artistic #architecture 🏗 • I fall in #love every time I travel to different village, city, island or country.🇪🇸 • Do you feel the same?😋 • #artsy #doors #happiness #pictureoftheday #luxurylifestyle #livelaughlove #spreadhappiness #summervibes #outfitinspiration
For this trip, we got advice from our local friends, Icart and Yurena. The first decision? Where to stay.
To combine a centric location with awesome prices, Icart recommended Poblenou, and up and coming neighborhood near La Sagrada Familia.
We decided to stay at Hotel SB Glow Barcelona, a very modern hotel with SPA, rooftop swimming pool, an amazing breakfast and… electric bikes!
A Great Vibe
As soon as we saw the rooms online we fell in love with this hotel. The hotel’s decoration is very tasteful and fresh. The interior designer really understood the vibes of Barcelona and this seems to attract a lot of young travelers. We were nicely surprised to see that most guests in the hotel were around our age.
Rooftop Swimming Pool?
My favoruite place in the hotel was the rooftop. Believe me, it is not bad at all to be in a rooftop swimmingpool full of palm trees in the middle of Barcelona! You get a great view of the surrounding buildings and even La Sagrada Familia.
Right at the other end of the terrace, you can find the sauna – a great spot for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.
Something else I loved about SB Glow is the breakfast buffet. If you like red velvet and carrot cakes, this buffet will not dissapoint you.
I think this is what made this hotel so special. We had never seen a hotel with electric bike rental. It really changes the way you discover a city. In fact, it was the first time we used an electric bike at all – and we loved it!
Barcelona has plenty of bike lanes and, although the hotel is very centric, some top spots like Park Guell are far if you were to use public transport. But fear not! This electric bikes will take you around Barcelona in a blink!
It’s crazy to be just cycling, exploring the city, while you bump into awesome monuments like Casa Batlló.
