The Westin Valencia: A Great Hotel to Pamper Yourself

The aura of Valencia will make you forget all your worries while preparing you to relax. I loved Valencia for its architecture and Mediterranean vibe, but now I love it for its coastal mild winter weather too. Even in countries like Spain, winter brings snow and heavy coats. Valencia is an oasis of warmth and peace where flowers shine colourful all year-round.

Valencia and its people are incredibly welcoming so it’s no surprise that people feel attracted to this jewell of the Mediterranean sea. The hotel staff were very attentive and received us with arms wide open. They had lots of information about Valencia’s rich cultural offer: from the Oceanographic to the City of Arts and Science, both of which you should visit. Valencia is also near Peñiscola, a stunning Medieval village and filming location of Game of Thrones which we visited last summer.

The hotel is in the historic city centre and only 10 minutes away from Mercado Colon, a lovely food market where we tried Valencian delicacies and traditional foods. We went for a glass of horchata, Valencia’s first choice drink, and fartons. It was soooo yummy! 😋 A local explained we should dip the farton in horchata and eat it.

The Westin Valencia exceeded all our expectations. It is all you could expect from Westin plus exquisite Valencian hospitality. I was very impressed that the hotel team knew us by name when we needed anything. They go the extra mile to make you feel right at home.

We got a Grand Deluxe room with Jacuzzi and it was possibly the best room I’ve had in my life. It was super spacious and had the best all-over marble bathroom I’ve seen. Obviously, the hot water jacuzzi was a nice amenity too 😉

I have to tell you, there is a downside to this hotel: the breakfast buffet is magnificent and… you can make your own waffles! 🤤 Beware if you are on a diet. I had three. 🤭 Luckily there are a lot of healthy choices too like all kinds of fruits you can imagine, and a gym to burn those extra calories if you feel like it.

I did a little bit of spinning and spent some time at the spa. The installations are state of the arts and have literally just been renovated. Do spend time at the spa because to re-energize after a day at the beach or shopping.

I can’t wait to see you again Valencia! We felt like we would like to live there for some time – very special vibe.

How about you – have you been to Valencia? What do you think of horchata?

I spent a week in Valencia last September. The town and countryside have much to recommend it but I felt it was a bit of a curate’s egg – good in parts. Glad you had a great time.
