Cortijo Fain (Arcos Golf) enjoys a perfect location, perched up in the gentle hills of Arcos, barely an hour drive from both Sevilla and Cadiz. After visiting Malaga, Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla, we wanted to live a truly Spanish experience – we did just that in a 300-years old Andalusian farmhouse!

I love the fancy stuff but this place is beyond superficial beauty. In Cortijo Fain, we escaped routine and enjoyed the true luxury of authenticity.
When you are there you will understand why this is such a special place. This experience is ideal for couples and those seeking a relaxing break. If you are into golf, this place is just paradise, but if you aren’t, don’t worry, there is so much more to it!
The food at the hotel is outstanding. I had a chance to speak to the chef who was very passionate about his cuisine. He uses very fine fresh products and it is obvious that he has put a lot of care in bridging traditional and modern cuisine together.
I find the price of the hotel very reasonable for a 4-star. If you are a big group, take a look at the villas. We loved our room, it was cosy and spacious, but the villas looked stunning too. Top things to do
If you want to discover the real Andalucia, I strongly recommend that you rent a car. It might sound like a hassle but you won’t regret it. In Spain, rates are good and roads are safe. There are so many places that are only accessible by car, such as Arcos de la Frontera, Calas de Conil, or the many nearby vineyards. You can use this site for price comparison and booking.
These are some of the things we did:
- Get a golf car at the hotel and go up the hill to watch the sunset – it’s super romantic! You can thank me later 🙂
- Go to Fabrica de Hielo in Sanlucar de Barrameda, and rent a kayak to cross to Doñana, a beautiful nature reserve. There is a beautiful beach where you can spend some time. If you are not into kayaking, there is a boat twice a day (booking is required.)
- Visit Bodegas Constancia in Jerez, a vineyard where you can experience a wine tasting session and enjoy a unique Spanish experience, a siesta! Right there, in the vineyard!
- Go to Calas de Conil. Park at the lighthouse and explore the many natural beaches around. This is an absolute must-see spot. If you can, watch the sunset there – you will love it.
I wish we could have stayed here longer!
See you soon Hotel Cortijo Fain Arcos Golf!
