Following up from my previous post where we did a very exciting photo shoot with a pineapple, the queen of summer, I bring you the rest of my days at Peñiscola. By the way, that photoshoot has a new record being the most visited post in my blog. Don’t forget to check it out here.

Peñiscola is such a stunning place I am not surprised that the Game of Thrones producers chose it for so many shots for the show. You might know it as the city of Mereen!
The city, often referred to as “The City in the Sea”, is a fortified seaport, with a lighthouse, built on a rocky headland. Enjoy unique beaches, lapped by the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
The tiny little old town of Peñiscola had so much to offer. The dreamy Mediterranean white and blue architecture made it to the top of my favorites list.
Another great few hours was a walk around the little shops and restaurants of the small historic center.
There is a beautiful castle located on the highest point of the city. It was built by the Knights Templar on the remains of an old Moorish citadel before the pope chose to make it his home; however, not the whole Catholic Church accepted him as the pope and he even got poisoned by traitors during his life.
Red was a key basic colour in the SS17 runway shows and there was no better place to use it than in Spain and, specifically, Peniscola. I believe it really compliments my skin tone – what say?
This lovely red chiffon dress with amazing thread embroidery detailing is paired up with pearl stud flap sandals and a locally made hand painted bullfighting hand fan.
Big Tip: Plan at least a 4-day trip! Also, hotels are affordable so you can treat yourself to a centric, beach front accommodation.
