If you’ve read my earlier posts, you already know a lot about my week-long trip to Phuket, Patong, Bangkok and Krabi in Thailand.
The trip was on a budget and the package cost 65,000 rupees per person which is a steal given that 4-star hotels, tours and transportation were included.
I would suggest spending some time researching about tours and not sticking to the standard ones offered by most tour operators. There are a lot of tourist traps in Thailand. We, somehow, ended up in a ‘city tour’ which consisted of visits to souvenir shops – not exactly the perfect plan!
If you are in Thailand, a visit to Safari World is mandatory. There is some debate about animal rights but animals seemed really happy and lively.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by these beauties! They are found mainly in South America.
Safari World is composed of 2 parks: Marine Park and Safari Park. The later one is best known for its open zoo. We spent the whole day there before catching our return flight. We loved it! There is nothing better than enjoying time with animals. Trust me, you will get time with them – hugging them and kissing them!
The entry fee is 750 Baht per person but you can sometimes find better deals online.
Yes! That’s right you can feed cute wild tiger cubs. Tiger and lion cubs feeding starts from 10:0am so make sure you’re there on time. But even if you missed it, you can pay 400 extra bath to feed them. This includes a picture that you can collect at the end of the day. Oh My My! They smell so good. I want one! 😀
The cutest ‘n’ tallest mammal from Africa.
I had never seen a giraffe before. They are such weird and funny animals – I was so excited to see them. There were at least 200 giraffes at the park, with a feeding counter. They will take the food out of your hands with their sleekly tongue, it’s so cool! They are also very friendly, you can touch them and see their soft and textured skin. I felt so connected with these animals!
This bird had a beautiful plumage that inspired an autumnal colour palette. Nature is a great source of inspiration for fashion.
This beauty is a precious species from Indonesia and Malaysia.
While walking around the park, we found this beautiful cute Orang-utan kid that was with her caretaker. They are so adorable! I just can’t express my feelings with words. The moment I got back to India, I researched on adopting an Orang-utan but they aren’t a species that would be happy in our human world. They are generally found in rainforest regions and they live with their mother for up to three years after they’re born.
Out of all animals in Sarafi World, the Orang-utan was my favorite – the way she held my hand and walked around with me was blissful.
Last but not least, the Big Cats! All of us have seen this one behind the bars of a zoo. It just feels different when you see so many of them roaming around free. Superb!
Safari World made me a kid again for a day!
River safari – Skip it! Expensive and nothing as such to see
Open Zoo – Lots of animals which you don’t get to see in city zoos
